LCA Job Opportunity: Temporary Assistant – Bend Office

Position Overview
The Bend Office Assistant will serve at the LCA Bend Office and will be the first point of contact for clients, partners, and volunteers. This role is responsible for greeting visitors, answering and routing phone calls, coordinating information and referral services, taking messages, managing mail, and collecting, reviewing, and updating client data in two or more languages. This limited-term position is intended to support office operations following the 2026 tax season for a period of up to four months.
This is a full-time (40 hours/week) non-exempt position for a minimum four month commitment. The work schedule is dependent on the office hours, and requires opening and closing the office four days/week and working one day/week while closed to the public. Occasional evening and weekend work is sometimes necessary.
Example Schedule:
Monday, Wednesday, Thursday 9:30 am – 5:30 pm
Tuesday 9:30 am – 7:30 pm
Friday 10:00 am – 4:00 pm (or flexible)
Saturday Off Occasional work available
Sunday Off Occasional work available
Primary Responsabilities
● Greet clients, partners, volunteers, and visitors.
● Collect, review, and update client information in the client/data management software (Apricot).
● Enter data from events, client services, and other LCA programs into Apricot.
● Handle incoming calls, emails, and other communications promptly and professionally.
● Take and deliver messages to LCA staff.
● Perform clerical tasks such as sorting and sending mail, preparing documents, making copies, etc.
● Maintain inventory of office supplies.
● Manage and maintain client files confidentially.
● Help organize and maintain the lobby, common areas, and adjacent bathrooms.
● Maintain and update information on the resource bulletin board.
● Schedule and transfer clients to the Client Services Coordinator and/or Manager.
● Manage Community Room reservations and contracts, including occasional weekend checks to ensure the room is in order.
Requirements
● High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent preferred
● Minimum of two years of relevant work experience
● Knowledge of basic office software including but not limited to Google Suite / Microsoft Office
● Familiarity with office equipment phone, computers, and copy machines
● Written and verbal communication skills in Spanish and English
● Scheduling and meeting planning
● Dependability and professionalism
● High attention to detail
● Strong customer service orientation
● Ability to use computers and office equipment for data entry, scanning and filing.
Compesation
Hourly position of $21.00 – $23.00 per hour, depending on experience.
This is a temporary employee role and not an independent contractor position.
Working Conditions
The work environment is primarily in an office setting with a high percentage of time spent using a computer or laptop. The environment sometimes includes elevated levels of stress that includes exposure to community trauma. This position requires occasional weekend and evening work. Some of LCA’s events take place outdoors in parks or community spaces. This role may occasionally require lifting and carrying items (typically up to 25 pounds) and traveling locally to support office operations.
